Growing Together's Online Market is Open!

The time has finally come, and the Growing Together online marketplace is open for the season! Thanks to all of you for making an account on our market, and for your continued support in this unprecedented time!

We’ve got some treats online for all of you this week. Greens, greens, and multi-colored greens! In addition to arugula, kales, and mustards, don’t miss the purple mizuna and red tatsoi! So many opportunities for gorgeous salads with a little kick :)

Herbs are also coming in nicely and radishes are just starting to come in. This is a great time to make a batch of fermented vegetables with the greens and radishes, or get all of your Vitamin C in to keep your immune system going strong with locally-grown leafy greens.

As a reminder, the market closes on Wednesday night at 6pm. Pick up your order at The Nashville Food Project headquarters (5904 California Ave) on Saturday from 9-11am.

Payment – You can choose to pay with your credit card at the time of purchase or with a personal check at the time of pickup. Due to COVID-19, we are shifting towards a cash-free ordering and pickup system to minimize contact with shared surfaces for our customers, staff, and farmers.

We’re so excited to reconnect with all of you! Thank you for your incredible support! As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Produce Availability for October 22nd

We’ve had a great fall week and are enjoying the cool mornings and sunny days! Our growing season is wrapping up as we close the garden at the end of October to give time for cover crop to grow and nourish the soil.

But we’ve still got product in the fields! We are pickling and fermenting like crazy to preserve the nutrient dense abundant greens for the winter ahead. And you can too!! The Asian greens and radishes are great for making kimchi, fermented greens, or pickles!

It has been a great year, and we are so appreciative of all the support we have gotten from customers and restaurants all over Nashville.

Many thanks,
The Growing Together team

Growing Together Offerings for October 11th

We have made it through summer and are well into Fall! This is such a wonderful time for growing in the garden – the cooler temps make the produce and the farmers very happy! We have a great diversity of product, as summer crops continue to linger and overlap the new fall crops.
We are nearing the end of our growing season for the Growing Together program. We close the garden at the end of October to give time for cover crop to grow and nourish the soil, preparing to start all over again in the spring. It has been a great year, and we are so appreciative of all the support we have gotten from customers and restaurants all over Nashville.

If you haven’t gotten an order in yet, or still havent had your fill of bok choy and daikon, now is the time!! The Asian greens and radishes are great for making kimchi, fermented greens, or pickles for the winter ahead!
Thanks for your support and happy weekend!

We’re finally feeling the first cool breezes of fall and we couldn’t be more excited! Keeping our fingers crossed for rain in the next few days to end this weeks-long drought!

Despite it all, we’re still working hard to grow high quality vegetables for you and we’ve got lots in the market this week!

We’re really into the Roselle Calyx and Mint combo right now to make iced Hibiscus Mint tea! You can use the fresh calyx or dry them to make the tea.

Greens are also coming in strong – so many varieties for salad, stir fry, cooking, and more!

Thanks for your support and happy weekend!

We can’t believe it’s almost October! We’ve still got a great variety of summer and fall veggies – and it hardly feels like fall with this heat!

We are really excited about the Hibiscus calyx we have right now – great for making tea or jam!

And it’s lettuce galore at the garden right now. Romaine, Magenta, and lettuce mix are all looking beautiful.

Check out the market and as always, thanks for your support!

Another great week with more great veggies ready for you despite this intense Nashville heat!
We’ve got so many greens coming in – bok chois of all kinds, mustards, lettuce mix and tokyo bekana. Great for salads and stir fries and the transition into fall foods.

We’ve also got several different radishes, great sliced thinly and added to salads or even better pickled to add to dishes over the next few months!

Can’t forget about the hakurei turnips to add to salads or the shishitos (in case you haven’t had enough of these this summer, now’s the time!)

As always, thanks for your support.

Growing Together for September 6th

This is a really diverse time of year in the garden, and we have a great selection for you this week!

Fall greens are starting to come in.

This is also the week to try something new! Bitter gourd are fun to try and have great health benefits as well.

We have a limited supply of the beautiful Thai eggplant, ‘Petch Siam’.

And if you haven’t tried the water spinach yet, we recommend. Lu Lu, the Burmese farmer who grows much of the water spinach, loves eating it raw in salads or cooking it like a leafy green. It’s high in nutrients too!

As always, thanks for your support.
